Help! I downloaded DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink, and used them sucessfully about 5 times, and then the DVDs started failing at the end of the burn process. I did not change the type of DVD that I was using. When I removed and reloaded the software, it worked for burning 1 DVD, and then started failing again. It failed burning with both the Nero software and the Decryptor burning software. Am I doomed to reloading the software every time I want to burn a DVD? I am fairly computer illiterate, so I would appreciate any advice in as plain language as possible. Thanks!
By failing what do you mena, what kind of error are you getting? What brand of media are you using, and what make model is your burner? Use the Nero Info Tool to find out what the firmware is on your burner.
I am using Memorex DVD-R (I know they're cheap, but they worked for the first ones that I did). The error from DVD Decryptor reads: I/O Error, and Failed to Write Sectors 608 - 639 - Session Fixation Error Writing Lead In. It's after the DVD Shrink finishes encoding. When I hit retry, the log says "Logical block address out of range". I think (but am not completely sure) that when I try to burn with Nero, the error comes at the end of the burning process. I'm not sure what make model my burner is (again, fairly computer illiterate).
oline781,
You need to change blank media as Memorex is crap media as there are at least 4-6 manuf of their disks and there is no quality control. Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yudens or Maxell. Blank media does matter and remember cheap is not always the best as you are doing movies and not data disks or spreadsheets
Session fixation error can be caused because the burner is not liking your media. My advice is to try another brand and see if this works, also in Shrink reduce the target size to 4300 to 4364 you are probably writing too close to the edge. Use the Nero Info Tool to find out the make, model and current firmware of your burner.
