heres the deal. I have a brand new laptop computer that i got from Dell about 1 month ago. There is a DVD Burner already in the laptop. I am using the latest versions of DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. You would think a new computer would be fast to burn movies? NO NO NO DVD shrink is analysing at 40 frames per second and the whole process including the backup and writing is about 5 hours. There is something wrong because my other computer which is a desktop does the whole thing in 30 min. The frames go at about 150 per sec on my other computer. Any Ideas?

Make sure your drive is in dma and not pio mode.
Check out #2 in this link:http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm
What are the specs on your new pc? In Shrink did you check deep analysis?

No that really shouldn't happen every time. It will sometimes revert if there are too many read errors. Something else is wrong. Now we're getting out of my league so I hope someone more experienced will come along to help. I would hate to give you the wrong advice.
You could also try a forum search - I'll try one also or a google if I get a chance tonite.

PokerStar, you are burning rented movies? I realize how most of us feel about not being able to legally burn our purchased movies and think that our fair use rights are being violated, but you have definitely overstepped the boundaries.
