Up untill a few days ago I would spend many happy hours together with my ps2, that is untill I cleaned the laser! - (a dvd was skipping)

Now when I try to play any of my backed up games I get nothing, ( I am using flip top & swap magic 3.3). The movies play, and the originals play but not my back ups!!

I cleaned the lens well again,(with compressed air alcohol and cue tip), adjusted height of the laser and angle, but not the pots, as I m just not that able!

Any ideas why this has happened, and does anyone know how do I go about returning it and having sony replace it?

if you opened the case and broke the Sony seal that is on it, you voided your warranty so Sony will not replace it.

There are plenty of shops on the web that do PS2 repairs, just search.

I know they wont replace it for free but I had one before that died on me, (the sticker was removed on that one too), and I was able to return it for something like £20 stg.
I was wondering if anyone knows how to go about this?

(And as a means to educate myself is there a really good guide on changing the pots - one that includes pictures of the tools and what is displayed on them).

Check the ps2 hardware forum, i seem to remember a post about the laser pots and a link to a guide (i just can't be bummed too look it up for you right now) so go find it yourself, i'm pretty sure it's there somewhere
