Are there any other programs out there like DVDinfopro and DVD Identifier? I bought a DVD-r movie online and am curious to see the manufacturer. The programs say the manufacturer is not on the disc.

if firmware is not up to date, it can cause it not to see a media code OR could be really, really crap media

wow, puffyrock, i really think that your mystery media is not very good quality, i have never seen anything like that before with those specs...

Format Capacity 2.65GB(2.85GB)

mini dvd? i do not have any experience w/ those dvds, so i will refrain from commenting on them, the "regular" size dvd5 are 4.7gb capacity, the one you have identified is much smaller. sorry, i don't know anything about those.

also, i think that these may be older 2x or 4x media that is of poor quality since this is in the media id:

Available Write Descriptor CLV 1.0x 1385KBps
Write Strategy Speed 2.0x 2770KBps

learn something new everyday, this is the 1st time i've seen something like this...im sorry i am stumped on this mystery media, it is nothing i have personally ever seen, hopefully others may be able to help you out here...good luck

yeah, or it could be that the 'dvd-r movie' is a lower quality copy of a movie, ie not exactly a 'real' copy of a movie, hint hint :)
