I recently bought a lite-on dvdburner 7/1/05 and i downloaded the dvdrip of Hostage. i went through the guides and attempted to convert it with dvd2avi but it failed. Is there some special way to burn dvd rips or did i go to the wrong guide? any help would be greatly appreciated please.

When I used to use DVD2AVI, I only used it for extracting sound and creating project files *.d2v. I then would convert with TMPGEnc. This was for SVCD and not DVD although it can be used for that as well.

I never downloaded a dvd rip, so I do not know what those are. Are they images or dvd folders or just .VOB files?
