Besides Solitare and Minesweper (both Games in Homebrew Apps!), what use is there in running any OS other then the lame Spoty Geek culture Ohhh You got *nix in your Dbox?, XBOX? iPod? and your PSP?! I don't know how good it is on the Batterie, But, I for one will not be impressed till someone can get Apple OSX Tiger 10.2.4 on there PSP?! LOL

Microsoft ..... i hate them because windows is so buggy and SP2 is a pain in the ass.... but anyways its not that Win Xp takes 2 gigs its cause it already takes 10 mins to boot up windows 95 .... 10 MINS THINK ABOUT IT... once u get in u can barly do anything Win XP PWNS all computers everywhere its cause microsoft figures insce ppl are buying better comps that they can make windows eat up all that mem and cpu power but what happenes when u want to play a game ? u get decreased performance so u buy better comp parts so its an endless cirlce and theres no escaping it
I am currently runnning
A 64 3000+ Vence Core 512kb L2 Chache
Giga-byte GA-K8NXP-SLI
1 gig of mem 400 mhz dual channel (generic LOL)
MSI 6800 GT
Sony dvd burner 16x non-dual layer
Lg 16x cd burner (its almost 4 years old now and working perfectly)

don't forget guys, this is all homebrew stuff. None of this has been certified and tested for the psp by sony. So If you want to use any homebrew I recommend you be careful cuz if you brick your psp then the warranty will be over... And I doubt Sony will refund ur psp...
Use at own risk!

Homebrew can't brick psp, unless it does something with flash. So regular homebrew is 100% safe to use.

if u are comfortable with overclocking if you get ram with memory timings of 2-3-2-5 or 2-2-2-5 then you can over clock a A64 3000 to at least the speed of a 3500 with the stock cooler. this is only for the venice cores if u look on the box somewhere it sould say something like ADA3000BPBOX if the code has BP in it then its a venice core. if it has ADA3000BIBOX then its the older core which doesnt support SSE3.
arcanix ur right homebrew cant affect ur warrenty or brick ur psp. UNLESS it flashes the psp just like arcanix said lol. usually when someone is hosting a file that has potential to brick ur psp then they will say so and usually in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS lol :p

yes there is a way to install windows 95 and windows xp on a sony psp
but it requires linux and a legal copy of windows xp and a psp firmware version 1.50 or older and a copy of the pc emulator called bochs and bochs then requires a disk image in order to run the selected os
have fun

Why would anyone want to do this again?
I could understand trying to run old DOS Games like Doom of some of the old JAST (H-Game), stuff on the Portable. But, um just don't see Windows by itself as anything worth having. Wow Minesweeper and Solotair! Wow like there's not at least a Dozeon version of those Games in Homebrew at the moment!
Given how um... 'Holey' IE and OE are, and how FireFox and Thunderbird are becoming!!, I'm not so sure I'd really want it on my PSP. It's one thing to get a Virus on the PC and then run Norton AV. But, I don't think anyone here can say with certinty what would happen to the PSP if such Code were to be let loose...
