I just installed Nero 6.6 but can't get it to burn on the CD-Rs I have. When I press the burn button, it indicates there is no CD-R/RW in the drive or the disc does not meet the requirements of the compilation. Yet, I can put in the same brand CD-R, that I have already burned something onto, and it will advised me that it cannot write to this CD-R. So, it appears to me the software and hardware are working, so do I just have some CD-Rs that went bad? They are "Value Disc" 48x. Thanks for any thoughts on this issue. Tom

I think cd-r s can go bad, it depends on how long you've had them for though wether they could have gone bad. I think it's because the dye goes unstable or something, so it won't be burnable anymore.

2 possible solutions to your problems:

1. Try a better brand of disc. Buying good quality discs will save you money and heartache over the long haul.

2. Make sure that the firmware/software for your drive is up to date.
