 ... Here is a link for DVD43 v1.4 ...
http://www.free-codecs.com/DVD43_download.htm
 ... Don't forget the Patin-Couffin Access Layer needed to support v1.4 ...

... And the correct way to uninstall DVD43 is:
go into Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, delete DVD43. Reboot PC. Go to C:\Program Files\DVD43 - delete all files, reboot PC and you will be free of it.

... I hope that this is some help ...

Yep... just like "catfreak" said basically. Just one more add on to it, after all that, just use your "Regedit" or "Windows" to search for files and type the word "dvd43", if there is any shows up, delete it all. Restart you computer and reinstall DVD43 again, then reboot your computer and restart it again. Hope this get you out of trouble now.

DVD43 v3.5.3.113 works for me flawlessly.

@alkohol ... I believe that you mean 3.5.2.113 as the latest version is 3.5.3 ...
@augusta1 ... If you aren't running either Win2k or XP, DVD43 will not work ...

@catfreak,

According to my knowledge, its latest version is 3.5.3.113 - at least, that is what I have installed on my computer as of May 5, 2005. If you go to C:\Program Files\DVD43 and put your cursor on the "green" icon DVD43_Tray (Inline DVD Decryption engine) it's definitely 3.5.3.113 100% for sure. On the outside it will say 3.5.3 only, but really it's 3.5.3.113 on the inside. Cheers mate.... :-)

Hi,

I am trying to back up a copy of a movie. I have DVD Shrink and DVD43.

I load the movie into my dvd player and a blank into my dvd burner.

DVD43 truns into the devil and freezes. I then get the following error:

Access violation at address 00465C77 in module DVD41_tray.exe. Read of address 000000004

Does anyone know why this happened? Thanks in advance for your help.

... Turn DVD43 off ... Use DVD Decrypter in file mode to rip the movie to your hard drive ... Then use DVD Shrink to shrink the movie to fit a DVD ... Then burn it to a disc using DVD Decrypter ...

... This is the best freeware combination available (in my humble opinion) ...

... An excellent and very entertaining guide can be had at the following link ...

... Are you downloading the movie off of the internet? To use DVD Decrypter you need to have an .iso file ...

... If it isn't an .iso file then go to the following link ...

Me again,

I tried everything you advised and other people at other forums advised and they would no copy.

So - I gave up!!! lol - I have been trying for 2 days for about 10hrs per day. I have a headache.

But, I like to thank you for your help!!

Would you happen to know a software I could buy that will backup my dvds? I did a search and so many came up I was over whelmed. I like something simple and user friendly. Although I'm sure DVD Shrink and dvd encrypter were not difficult - but my pc just kept giving me i/o errors.

Right now I have Nero which came with the burner I purchased. I would like to delete it and maybe get something better.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks again catfreak!
