LOL! Signing up for that amnesty thing is like walking into the constables office with a box of copied DVD-R's. Yes, if someone downloads even one illegal file, they are sueable. Yes, it applies to games. Read the legal stuff and you'll see it was put out by the Recording Academy.

EVERYONE is sueable? I don't think so. People tried to call me on that before. I've had people phone my house asking if in this residence was there people donwloading games/songs and stuff illegally. I said no, everything I download, I have the original media which is 100% legal in accordance with Section 117 of the Copyright Law. I told them if they call me again I will file harassment charges on them. So far....8 months later....no more calls. The ones who get sued, more or less, have to in some way admit that they are keeping the media illegally. Even so, I can download from a link MEANT to catch pirates and if they say anything about it I can say It's already gone...I deleted it from my comptuer with the 24 hour time period. Which is considered *previewing* material. Which IS totally legal to do. Over half the people getting caught give themselves away. They don't know the loop holes. If knowledge is a power you don't have, then you WILL be over powered. By the time you find out, it will be too late.

well thank god for that, i have all the origional media (all of SOADs albums and all my gamecube games) which means i wont be sued, right:D,
anyways thanks coldasice i didnt know it was ok if i had the origional media (and tbh i normally delete all the videos i get anyway because you can only really watch a dvd once lol) thankyoo people!! ^_^

and yes, absolutely anyone in America can be sued for anything. They may not win, and they may have to pay your attorney's fees but they can surely put the inexperienced through misery. There is more that I could debate about your many good points but suffice it to say that the winner will always be the one with the knowledge, because knowledge is power...

Whoop yup, you're right. Typo on that. Thanks for correcting me. The object is debatable. It is all debatable. However, expression of knowledge in that area is enough to *inform* most companies that you know enough about what your talking about to defend yourself in key areas that the opposing company is trying to hit you in, hence I don't think, based on that conclusion, that they would be likely to persue the most of people in that catagory.

And yes, I am the avasive type! And it's worked so far! ;)
