Audio Breaks when ripping

Hi, I'm new here and did a search but couldn't find any info on this problem.

I have tried ripping a DVD to AVI using both imToo DVD Ripper and AoA DVD ripper and each time the audio track has a series of breaks where it is silent. In other words, the audio is great for two seconds, then silent for a second, then great for another two seconds, then dead again for another second, etc. It goes on like this for the entire length of the track.

Like I said, I have tried converting the DVD using two different programs and fiddled with multiple audio settings, including WAV, MP3, and DiVX codec.

I am ready to pull my hair out over this problem! Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I tried both programs and settled for Imtoo, never experienced your problem. Anyway, a couple of suggestions:
1) At 'output settings', select XviD Mpeg 4 codec instead of divx
2) At 'Tools', click 'sound normalizer' and let the program normalize sound level.
