Ver 4 PS2 cannot read DVD based games after duo2se mod installed

Alright guys, here's the deal...

All of my CD-R's boot up fine, have it being older ps2 games (backups and originals) and Ps1 games (backups and originals). Also, my original ps2 games boot.

Everytime I put in a backup dvd-r game, it stays at the browser. Although once it came up to the red screen when I was using Ritek G03's.

Media I have tried...

1) Memorex DVD-R
2) Taiyo Yuden DVD-R(yes it is real)
3) Maxell DVD +R
4) Ritek w/ G03

I have another ps2 w/ a duo2se and it boots everything up fine. And yes I did the work myself. I checked my soldering on my v4 and it looks fine? Is there a certain point I should look at?

Any ideas would be great!

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. Some members over at Ps2-Scene were saying that as well. I guess I'll have to fork out $40 for a new laser :-( I can't stand Ps2's!

Hi PrincoR this happened 2 me with V7 & V4 with DMS4 I figured it was my board connection. New lasers fixed both machines. My customers were pissed though. This is understandable, bring in yr PS2/PSTwo 2 get modded & run the additional cost of a laser when it was working b 4 they brought it 2 u.
