Hi all, im fairly new to the whole encoding/converting scene so bear with me...

This is my first attempt and when using TMPGenC i try to open an AVI source file i have... yet it says it cannot open it? Any suggestions?

It should be noted (since im new) that this source file is ready-to-watch and i have already viewed it on pc, i just want to encode it so it is ready to be converted to a DVD format...

Thanks

Kaine1985,
Hi, Use vso divxtodvd software is the better choice and the easier one and use Nero to burn it to dvd.

The easiest way to convert AVI to dvd files is using VSO divx to dvd, which you can downlaod from the vso oftware website and most likely afterdawn.

Geez you guys. He's already got TMPGEnc, why suggest a whole bunch of other crap?
Imtoo is fairly close to the bottom of a long list of junk.
VSO has no options.

Open your AVI in GSpot, and see what codecs it needs.
Download and install them.
Open TMPGEnc, click Option, environmental settings, VFAPI plugin.
Right click "Direct show multimedia reader".
Select Increase Priority, and keep doing that, until it's at the top of the list.
You should now be able to load your avi's.

Black holes are where God divided by zero...
Cheers, Jim
