G'day guys. I have a number of TV transmissions recorded to DVD but they include ads. I would like to be able to remove ads from these and rerecord to DVD. I don't seem to be able to find suitable software for this task. Does anybody know of suitable software or how else I can get the ads removed? While recording the originals I used the "chapter marking" facility to indicate where the ads were thinking that I could just eliminate the required chapters from the disk but it doesn't seem to work that way. Any ideas will be greatfully received. I don't mind it the software is going to cost money but of course I will not refuse freeware. Thanks in advance.

hi bernden,

You can also use DVD Shrink to remove unwanted ads. Use the re-author mode and you can remove the scenes you don't want. As borhan9 stated you can do this as well with clonedvd2. Suggest you try both but DVD Shrink is free and clonedvd2 has a 21 day trial. Either application will do what you want.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

G'day Borhan. I took you suggestion and tried CloneDVD2 but when I clicked on the folder after loading to the hard disc only the Video_TS file showed up in the dialogue box and there was no way of selecting the chapters I wanted. I guess that the chapter function has not operated properly. Is there anything I can do about this? If so could you give me a blow by blow description as to how to do it? Sorry for being such a nong. Btw I have downloaded the Afterdawn Guide and the help sheet from CloneDVD2 but neither explains what I want to do. Thanks.

G'day Matt. I have DVDShrink but the re-authoring button does not seem to want to work, nor does the re-authoring tab on the FILE pull down menu. Is there anything I can do about this or will I have to re-download a copy of DVDShrink? Also, as I was telling Borhan9 my efforts at chaptering appear to be for naught as the indevidual chapters are not filed in the VIDEO_TS folder. Anything you can do to help will be most appreciated. Thanks.
