how do i convert PAL to NTSC

hey there
i just downloaded and burned a movie to a dvd. it said that it is not in NTSC system. then i tried it on my ps2 which was modded but then it said the tv system did not match. i really need to convert this movie to NTSC. i still have the file on my computer. so if there is a way to convert please tell me. also if you can, please give me a list of programs that can be used.

calm down dude, i guess i can help you convert your illegally downloaded movie, try TMPEG DVD AUTHOR, thats what i use, its great.

If you want to use a lite free program you must make a circle first. In other words you can use vso's divxtodvd. Force the source to be converted from pal to ntsc or viceversa. The circle is that this prohram produces .vob files, so if you wanna retrieve selected scenes and combine 'em with other scenes you've to rip 'em again in the format of the rest material and compile the desired project.
This maybe is not the best way, but works fine for me.

any idea where i can get some ps2 PAL games. i live in canada and i cant buy them. you can also give me sites where i can download them.

i am new to this site and it isnt piracy to download is it. i thought piracy was just copying and ripping dvds. i understand downloading music is illegal but everyone in my area downloads movies. if this is piracy please inform me and i will stop downloading (maybe)

hey man
thanks for the info i guess there is no way of saving money. i guess its no problem i will just have to spend 20 to 30$ for dvds and 50 bucks for games while my ps2 cost 200 bucks. (4 games and i pay as much as the ps2)

just 1 question, if what i am doing is illegal how come there are threads entirely about modding consoles, pirating dvds and downloading. how come they dont get in trouble.

tose threads are not about copying dvd's, there about making backups of dvd you legally own. not copying movies you rented at blockbuster. and modding consoles are also for letting you run backups of games you legally bought at a store.

i dont copy anything from blockbuster. i just copy dvds from friends and i wanted to know how to convert PAL to NTSC because a friend of mine from london england sent me a dvd with home movies.
besides blockbuster has CSS security code. i dont know how to break it. there probably is a was but i dont want to go THAT illegal.
