Problems Burning with Decrypter

Hey everyone -
i've been trying to use my new dvd burner with no success, and i was wondering if you guys could help. i followed scubapete's guide for using shrink and decrypter, i updated my firmware from dell and got the force aspi 1.8, and i'm using dvd+r's that have worked wonderfully on my old computer. Still i've been getting i/o error messages... i'll paste them below:
I/O Error!

and when i click "retry" this different error message shows up:
Sense Area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 12 00 00 00 00 21 02 00 00 00 00 00 01 02 03 04 05
Interpretation: Invalid Address For Write

Poor media Phillips Blanks are not the best at burning on any DVD burner. Try a different blank disc manufacturer, burn at no more than 4x regardless of disc speed claims and you should have good results. Verbatim are very highly regarded available everywhere, try those.

my dma settings are set correctly (not on PIO mode) and philips is actually the burner brand... i use "infomedia" blanks which is a brand from taiwan... it's worked alot better than memorex for me but i don't know much about its qualities.
weird thing - although DVD Decrypter gave me an error message at 88% burning, the dvd is playable and none of the movie/extras have been cut off. i didn't realize this until after i posted the message. but will it keep doing that to me? say it didn't work but really it did?

It may, or it just might be the disk you were using, all you can do is try burning another disk. I would really rethink the media you are using though, it is not the best. Give another brand a try and see how it goes.

I have had same burn errors when using crappy media that will sometimes play but mostly won't. Based on my experience you may get a few that will play but most probably won't. The last step of the burning process is the disc finalization which is needed to playback the disc. The check condition error: usually means your drive doesn't like the media
You will probably continue to get these burn errors until you switch to some of the good media listed above.

thanks for all your help before... i'm not sure what i did, but i got the burner to work properly. the blanks have been fine, i've since burned several dvds with them without any problems. however, yesterday it stopped working again! i think the error message that shows up is the same as before... the "check condition" one... and it's doing the same thing where sometimes it'll burn a certain percentage(which is playable) but then fail before it's completely done. what happened???? did my dvds suddenly go bad(again)??

If your using the same media - infomedia and memerox that's probably your problem. Poor quality manufacturers don't have the best QC standards so in one spindle some can be good some not.
When you put the blank in DVDD what's the manufacturer's id?

the manufacturer's id is INFOME and the type is R20. thanks for your quick reply!

My best advise to you would be to switch to some quality discs. This would decrease your failures big time. Try Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim DataLifePlus, Fuji or Sony (look for made in Japan when buying these last 2 in store).
Also don't burn at max speed.

hi
its a combination of drive/pc and discs! i reckon thats why its intermitant....
as you say on old pc it was ok.
you can click ignore on errors and let it run and like you say it still plays, your discs sound border line ok-ish?
also dont burn fast! 4x and lower

by the way, the error message at top is saying it does not like the media used!!!
99% of I/O errors are media related
