dvdrs with the mdeiacode ritek g05

That's what they identify as. They burn and verify fine but afterwards wont read at all on the dvd rom that burnt them. They read fine on my standalone players and ps2
They just appear as blank media after written. Anyone know why?
They are unlabeled but are the dark purple ritek dye I believe
weird it will read a whole manor of other brand dvdrs with no problem. It will write this batch of g05s no probs. But it wont read em after. Such a strange situation.
I have written another batch of g05s (ridata) and read them no probs.
Ive got the latest firmware available (pioneer dvr106 using the 1.08 firmware)
I dont know what to do cause I bought this batch in bulk (150pieces) and they wont read no matter how many times I open and close the tray
Maybe they are seconds? Unbranded media.... Whenever a company doesnt want to put their mark on a batch of media something perculiar is up...

i don't know much about Ritek, legitimate or otherwise, and i like using Ebay, but i'm afraid i wouldn't trust people on Ebay for media. That doesn't help you i know, all i can offer in advice is never buy media off Ebay again, stick ot store sales or reputable online sites

yeah, i've bought and sold stuff on Ebay a lot, and been fine, but that's cus i stick to things i know will be ok. My bro is even self employed and uses Ebay as a vehicle for his earning, and does very well for the most part. But media is just something you'd have no comeback about..

@reaxon. i use ritekGO4....GO5. most of the time with no problems at all.
you can get branded ridisc which are blue but are CMC (in caps for creaky):) bad media.
or ridisc which are mauve but are ritek good media. very easy to mix up the two.
if the face is white and i.d go5 they should be printable.
there should be no space between ritek and go5 if there is, not real macoy.
BTW how did you id your disc?

Reaxon...Have seen them listed on ebay by the truckload, so I kinda took a punt that thats where they came from.You have learnt another of lifes many lessons,buy cheap=get cheap.
Thanks to CREAKY`S sunday(and every other day) sermons...lol...I now use verbs,and just love the mothers.
TY`s do the biz as well,but cost to much to get them from the States to liddle ole Tassie.

@ gunard: I used dvd identifier
I found out a way to read these dvds actually I just burn with Nero and dont click the ok and finish tabs. It readable untill i take it out, then it will not recognize the disc again.
Thanks for the heads up about ebay I might launch a dispute against this person. Either they arent ritek or they are ritek seconds or something.

try to file a claim against the seller and try to get a refund and return them to him/her~ :) i never buy media on ebay as i did in the past when i was 1st starting out w/ burning and such..got scammed on some fake TYs unfortunately, i tell everyone i can now about such ebay foul play~ glad you learned NOW rather than later when you wasted more of your hard earned $$ for crap media~ :P

instead of going and doing all of that, just go to Wal-Mart and
buy the brand.....MAXELL with gold tops, those are usally
idenified as RITEK G05"s. they work ok...........
myself i only use TY"S now from all my exp. and advice from many
on these forums, the ebay thing is a waste of your time, i'd
rather go to Wal-Mart, like i said above.
