timmc83 ,
Welcome to the forum. Your problem usually is caused by a compatibility problem between the DVDs and the player. What is the brand and model # of the player and what is the name brand of blank DVDs you are using

timmc83,
I want you to d/l DVDinfoPro(free) and do a media check to see if the burned DVD's are from the same manuf as the ones you can not get to work. I know theey say TDK but they might not be the real manuf of the disks. You might have a spindle w/ some of the disks bad.
Have you triesd the DVD's that will not play on someone else's DVD player.

I would agree that it's a media problem. I've gone through almost a whole spindle of blank DVD's that work just fine, and then, all of a sudden, the last ten or so aren't working. So, I switch media (usually buying a brand that people on a forum like this one say is good). It seems that the major brands, like TDK, don't actually make their own media. So, do a check as advised. I check mine as soon as I get them; if they aren't manufactured by whom I thought they were, I return them. It's unfortunate that DVD media aren't more universal in their quality like CD's are (I hardly ever have trouble with them...even the cheap ones.)
