Someone Please help me downgrade my PSP. I am so mad at Sony for tricking me! I need people like me to try to make a EBOOT.PBP file from a dump file I found.
I HATE SONY...THEY TRICKED ME!

No retailer whould have that "device." And thats hardware i need a simple EBOOT file that i can put in PSP/GAME/UPDATE. But thanks i stayed up to 5 in the morning looking at different sites for this. and the closest thing i got was a dump file of it.
I HATE SONY...THEY TRICKED ME!

yeah man. they are the same.
1.5, 1.50,1.50000000 is still the same number.
the hombrew works. I got the 1.5 myself and trust me, when you learn how take advantage of it you will be loving it.
darkraven, i dont know what you can do exactly to downgrade b/c i still have the 1.5 and have not had to go down that path but i am sure the other versions will be cracked eventually. I remeber getting off work everyday with the hopes that the 1.5 would be cracked and soon, BAM there it was. But you should check around b.c it might be possible to downgrade somehow. They have done so much with the psp so far and i dont see any stopping the hacks. If i see anything i will try to post it for you but Good luck finding a solution till then man.

oh my bad i didnt know psp was like math and i just got 5 homebrews on my psp its great and i got the file assistant it lets u cut,copy,and paste files really a great program for psp and i think it allows u to download pictures through the wipeout browser.

hey guys downgrade possibility simple but i didnt try it yet if you are brave enough to try it go ahead i know "someone" who took the 1.50 firmware update and opened it up with a prog called PBP_EXPLORER changed everything that said 1.50 TO 1.52 save as eboot.pbp and add a LABLE "TITLE_9" line and put "PSP? 업데이트 버전 1.52" as the value and "2" as the type save file and put in mem stick on psp/games/update folder go to mem stick and now it says PSP UPDATER 1.52 when its really 1.50 anyone willing to try outgive some feedback this should trick the psp into upgrading a 1.51 to a 1.50 and maybe a 1.52 if you change everything in pbp explorer to 1.53

Can any body help me I don't understand how to get the M.A.M.E and,or nes,snes games in to my psp I've been to several sites and non helped me so will somone please help me leave me answer whos did it befor .....ih ya I got version 1.50.

Hey, I can prolly do it but I first need to get an EBOOT version of Firmware 1.5. (a.k.a 1.500 infinity) yea, if anyone knows how do go about getting it from sony or creating it (doubtfully) from the dump, then it would be really easy to create a 1.50 update. Other than that, I hate sony for tricking me too. but we're all gonna have to do it eventually until a mod chip comes out for the psp or somethin.

The only problem with all this is that if you downgrade you can't play some games and if you want to play homebrew, you can't upgrade. But Sony has finished with there web browser and is releasing it with 2.00 and you can't get it with the old versions. Yes you can use Wipeout Pure but the Sony browser can do more. They haven't released 2.00 officially in the US but you can download it at:

It is in english and I know most of you don't want it but for those of you who do, put the file in [memstick]:\psp\game\update
make sure its called EBOOT.PBP and it will run.

i used the pbp explorer to change the ver. of a 1.51 update to 2.00. it almost worked. i loaded the update and it said PSP System SOftware Version it didnt show the ver. but then an error showed saying that the data was corrupt. i used knman00's message to give me ideas about how to downgrade.
.....Maybe itll work the other way around or something then i could try it with the 1.5 eboot file i got from http://konsolenprofis.de/downloads/download2.php?id=1034
but im just a newb so i dont really know about this kinda stuff.

I have changed the Eboot file of a Ver. 1.51 with PBP Explorer to Ver. 1.53 to try to downgrade... BUT since I was dumb enough to Upgrade to Ver. 1.52, I think this is too easy of a way to swtich back, SOOO I am a chicken to try anything as of yet... I don't want to screw up my PSP... Ver. 1.52 is better than a Paper Weight...
booooom14: Did yours continue to work??? And did you put Title_9 in, cause I think that is just a Language Title, not really needed (of course this coming from me, PSP Upgrade Dropout)

yea i did add title 9 because i didnt really kno wat it was. my psp still works i tried to view pics and play songs and games to make sure nothing was wrong with it.

i posted this on a different site and every one just told me off and said that it was all ready tried before and that i was a wasted attempt. O well, i just wanted to downgrade so bad that i would've tried anything. hmph.. i cant believe they'd talk to a girl like that!!

sry..forgot to put this in ^above^...It's not impossible to downgrade...people ARE working on it and it will happen sooner or later dude...although i have no idea where to even start to figure it out..i have faith in my fellow psp'ers in that they will figure it out...
