I mainly used the emu for seeing which version of the update i was installing. But the EBOOT file is completely UNMODIFIED. I can't see why anyone thought that a downgrading upgrade file wouldn't work.

Mate if it works for you its great but hackers all over have tried and it aint just been working......so how ever you done it well done but still no good for me I have v2.0. Although I have heard someone will be releasing a a official downgrader....

nope not yet....im worried i'll brick my psp...sorry dude but im gonna try few psp emu's first...main reason being my PSP is version 2.0 and you dnt know how f'd off i am..i dnt see any light as yet for v2 psp's

So..Troy, you have downgraded your psp?Could you explain me how?I really can't understand...what is a emu????
So I can get ver 1.5?Now i've got ver 2.00 on psp 1000k(japanese)...the eboot file you used is the japanese one, so I think it's ok, isn'it?

The first thing to do is download the eboot file i linked to earlyer.
Then place it in the upgrade folder of your PSP's memory card. Create a new notepad document and fill it with 200 X'es. In Google, search for a download of the 2.0 upgrade, and rename it's the eboot file to 02EBOOT, and leave the extension in-tact. Then copy it into the upgrade folder. Start you PSP and select the 1.5 firmware upgrade, and it will install.
CONGRATULATIONS!! You have just downgraded your PSP to 1.5!
You also asked what an emu is. It is a piece of software capable of running a consoles bios in a virtual enviroment. eg: it simulates the console :)

guys i have read on on several other threads make sure you dnt upgrade your psp to the very latest jap version 2.0. That one has more security on it. if you are trying troys way on you psp pM me and i will send you the older version of Jap v2.0. Once some has tried troys way on version 2.0 and succeeded i will try it..im to scared to try it first....

IM REALLy lost..are you guys saying that if i updated my psp 1.51 using the intructions stated above, i would be able to downgrade my psp to 1.5, and then i would be able to run emulator stuff and iso launchers?

i just went in Yoshihiro Team WAB (irc.blackcats-games.com #wab) to find out more about the downgrade, but everybody there said its a scam!!!!! they said nothign would be release tomorrow...i hope they are joking!! we need something to downgrade our psps!!!

Gelli89. I have looked at what you have done. according to troys instructions he said create a new file with 200 "x"s but he didnt mention what you would name it. troy the file with 200 x's what do you name it and why do you place that in the update folder?

I got the loading screen on 1.50 update screen to work. I got a psp 1.5.2 PAL. After that the screen turns black and returns an error: "The game could not be started. (80020148)". I did this without the 200 x's txt file and without the 2.00 renamed update. Don't ask how 'cause i don't know. I just got the psp today. Anyone know what to do?? BTW I did this a couple of times and sometimes it returns the message that i have an older firmware. Don't know what this could mean...

I think that this happens when you rename the UPDATE folder to Update with just the capital U. At least in my case. Stupid but true and probablly not worth anything.
