I've read that dvds are being made so that they will not be able to be copied as easily as before. I read this after having a problem making a backup of "The Grudge". At first I thought maybe it was a fluke, but after researching in a few forums it seemed like a looming problem. Now today I'm having problems with "The Jacket". I have made dozens and dozens of copies with no problems until receintly using dvd shrink and decrypter in combo. Any news about this or suggestions about what other software I could use. Thanks!!!

In case I wasn't clear about the software, I have always used DVD Shrink and decrypter. Only now, shrink seems to be the catch-up.

Try using Decrypter first in file mode. Once that is done, open the files DVD Decrypter created by using Shrink "Open files" and proceed as usual.

Thx for the advice. I did that and it did work but I'm still wondering what is in store for dvd burning in the future. Any insight on that?

they'll keep coming out with new encryptions, people will keep cracking them. It's cyclic redundancy. lol

They are starting to mess with the structure of the DVD now. So they are actually violating the DVD standard. Someone builds a taller wall, someone builds a taller ladder. The wall builder looses.

As long as we can watch them then we can copy them. They have to make them where they still play in a DVD player. They have gotten pretty clever lately but that has not slowed us down. I think they are trying a two pronged attack now. Structure protection and legal action.
