I used programs; SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, and TMPGEnc Plus.

I'm fine with:
? ripping VOB files with SmartRipper
? extracting audio using DVD2AVI
? multiplexing VOB to MPEG using MPEG Tools(from TMPGEnc Plus)

I followed Project Wizard to encode the audio and video into a MPEG file. I don't know what half the stuff means(interlace, non-interlace, Inverse telecine, etc...)
When playing the output, the video doesn't run smoothly, but the visual shakes and bit skips ahead frames.

On the bottom of the window, it reads:
DVD NTSC (MPEG-2 720x480 23.976fps VBR 8000kbps, Layer-2 48000Hz 384kbps)
I thought a video is usually runs about 30 fps. Can I change the 23.976 fps to 30 fps?

How should my settings be to have the output run smoothly?

OK...What you do is First Make sure when you are Makeing the ".D2V" File in DVD2AVI that you select the "Forced Film" option in the "Field Operation" settings....

And when you encode this File in TMPGEnc Make sure you set the "Encode Mode" setting to "3:2 Pulldown When Playback" and then set the "Frame Rate" to "23.976fps(Internally 29.976fps)"...

This is the Proper settings for encodeing in TMPGEnc and you shouldn"t have any Playback Proplems on your TV Set...

Also when Previewing your encoded File on your PC make sure you "Don"t" use Media Player because it isn"t made for DVD playback and even though it thinks it is...You should allways Use DVD Playback software Like PowerDVD or WinDVD so you get a Proper representation of what it will look like on your TV set....

Cheers
