I have a problem that I can't figure out. I have the movies national treasure and cursed both copied onto dvd-r. Both of them will not work on my sony dvd player (skips through each chapter). Also will not play on my computer (TDK dvd burner). Both movies will play on my dad's sony player and also my sisters player which is a sony. Both movies work just fine on my son's computer (LG dvd-rom cd burner) and my dad's computer (not sure what brand). I have 4 copies of national treasure now. Why can't I play this movie on my stuff when it works on everyone elses?

Also I have over 100 copied movies which all of them exept national treasure and cursed works just fine on my stuff.

your players just don't like the discs you are using. If you use Verbatum or Taiyo Yuden you should be good to go. Avoid Memorex at all costs!!

I have 4 copies of national treasure. They are on verbatim (my #1 choice), tdk, staples brand, and TEON.

If my player don't like the disk's then why do all my other movies work just fine. I do have a couple on memorex and they work just fine also.

maybe you got a couple of bad discs in your batch. It happens, not all discs in a bundle are made by the same manufacturer. For example, Memorex is made by a bunch of different manufacturers, some of them good and most of them crap. Verbatum is generally good, TEON and Staples are not.

What speed are you burning at? Maybe try slower. 4x or less is recommended.

That still doesn't explain why only national treasure and cursed doesn't work in my player and does play on everyone elses.

I don't know, I got National Treasure without a problem. I am using good media though.

Some dvd players are pickier than others, just a fact of life. I went through a short period of time where my DVD player kept saying it couldn't play discs, then one day it just started working again and has been going strong ever since. Figure that one out....

Anyone else seen this problem? Simpson season 1 dvds ripped with DVD Decrypter and burned with Nero cause my sony dvd players to turn off when I attempt to play. I used CloneDVD to rerip and burn the files and they work fine. This only seems to happen when ripping the entire dvd.

You say you ripped with DVD Decrypter, did you compress the discs and burn onto a single layer disc or did you burn to a dual layer disc? What brand of media did you use also?
