Hi there, i have a problem i have a vcd video but its in english , so i extract the .dat file from it to embeed a subtitle file , so i do the encoding using virtual dub and tmpgenc to create the new video file with the subtitles , but at the end the file is much bigger so i cant burn it on a cd, so my question is how can i make to embeed the subtitles and the video still in the same size as the original or a size that i can burn on a cd, should i configure something in tmprenc or virtual dub to make the file smaller and preserver the queality?

The method I've used is to convert the .dat file to .mpg using VCDGear:

Then use TMPGEnc to encode the file as Video CD. Make sure TMPGEnc DirectShow Multimedia Filereader has its priority bumped up as shown here

If the .mpg file and subtitle file are named correctly etc. this will give you an .mpg file with "burned in" subtitles that you can burn with Nero or whatever. If you want to stick in some chapter points
you can use VCDEasy 1.1.5.2 to create an .iso image before burning:

It's pretty much fun to do as long as TMPGEnc is set up correctly.
