Use DVD Decrypter to back up PS2 games, it's free. You need a boot method inorder to play the game though.
A chip or boot disc w/ flip top/slide tool.(I prefered boot disc w/ flip top)

BD & FT: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/187278

DVD Decrypter: (RIP) Put disc in drive, Open Decrypter,Mode,ISO,Read,Choose Source & destination, Press the DVD to HD pic and you're set.
(Burn)Put Blank disc in drive,Open Decrypter,Mode,ISO,Write,Choose Source & destination, Press the HD to DVD pic and you're done.

if i use the DVD Decrypter and rip the games, and then burn them onto another disc, does that mean i'll still have to put the burned disc in my ps2 to play? or will the game be on my computer for good so then i can play it without a disc, using my network adapter? i want to be able to play multiple ps2 games without having to swap discs in and out. ne more help?

Your network adapter enable you to play online if I'm correct. Right now I'm kinda confused. Can you please restate what you are using? The only way you can play back up game is through the boot method. Using disc or modchip. Ok, network adapter allow you to play games online. In able to play back up games, you need some kind of boot method. I'll try my best to further help you.

isn't there a way to load the ps2 games onto your computer, and then use the network adapter(on the ps2) to access the games from the PC without putting a ps2 disc in the ps2. im looking for a way to boot my games and not have to swap them in and out of my ps2. if you know how to do ne of that, then inform me. my question b4 was, if i put a ps2 game disc into my PC, and rip it, and then put a blank disc in there and burn the ps2 game onto the blank disc, i'll still have to swap games in and out of the ps2 right? if i do the whole DVD Decrypter thing, and rip and burn the games, do i still need to put a mod chip into my ps2? do you have and AOL screen name or an email address because you seem like a very knowlegable person, and im gonna need a lot more help. thanks

No you insert the game, save the ISO file to the drive and then inset a blank and copy the iso file onto the blank DVD. If you dont want to swap discs get a mod chip, if you dont know how to install one get a fliptop and swap magic.

So you dont use your NA for it...get it? Its on your comp to burn.

i would just suggest that you get a network adapter if you dont already have one, and install a big hard drive in your ps2, something like 200GB. after that, you can backup games to the hard drive in the ps2 and would only need one cd to play any of the games on there without swapping a bunch. you can either buy software to do it, or MC exploit to do it. i would go with the exploit, because that's free.

PS2 v7 39001 + 64MB MC
200GB Seagate oem
Retail HDA (HDL Fully Patched)
boot = Launchelf 3.4b
exploit = Codebreaker 8.1 method

i think i might have that particular 120GB, but that one is in my PC. it works pretty decent in my pc i suppose. i've had it for about 3 years now. BUT both of my ps2s have 200GB hard drives in them. one seagate, the other, maxtor. i plan to replace the seagate with a maxtor eventually. after that, i'm gonna give one of them to my li'l sisters.

personally, i'm not sure. i dont even play backup ps2 games on DVD. i play backup games from my hdd. if i do backup a ps2 game on dvd, it's in an archived format so that way i can just extract it from an archive and use it later. IF you want to do that, then i think any media is ok. i have BeAll DVD-R media (check www.meritline.com) for all of my dvd needs. but for playing, i dont know.
