What's easier and cheaper: Flip-top w/Swap Magic Discs or NeoKey External USB ModChip?

I have a V1 PS2 so my options are kind of limited on what I can do. There aren't very many sites that still sell a V1 flip-top and no one seems to know if I can use a V4 and later version so I don't want to risk it. But the NeoKey Modchip seems to be my best bet, it's cheaper than the flip top, and I don't need to use the swap method. Are there any drawbacks to using it? Is it really as simple as plugging it into the USB port? And is it compatible with as many games as the Flip-top and SMD's?

the best solution for you is neither of what you stated. V4 flipies dont work with v4 i tried it. your best bet is to get an usb extreme hard drive and hard drive enclosure! Usb extreme is like 27.99 enclousure is like 14.99 and hdd is up to you , andything about 40 gb is fine. I bought mine last week from http://www.consoleasia.com and got it pretty fast. Second order with them so there safe.
