I've been using dvdshrink for awhile now and have just noticed that the burnt disc has only about 1MB used. Nero is set to automatic when burning. Is nero set right or should I set it to standard play?

Thanks!

I've trying to figure this one out... You say that only 1MB is being burned to your DVD? How big were the original files? If the DVD plays properly and has a typical movie on it then it has used most if not all of the available space on the disc. Also you can look at the dye side and actually see where the burn starts and stops. I think you might be reading something wrong to get that disc size or I've misunderstood your post.

The original discs have been up to 3.5 to 4 hrs long.

I load it into dvdshrink, quick analise, deep analise, encode to hd and put a blank dvd in when original ejects and burn takes about 5 min.

I looked on the dye side and only about a quarter of an inch is burned.

Picture and sound are fine but it seems to be an enormous waste of disc space!

Various full length movies (1.5 to 3 hrs), but right now Buffy Season 4!

Each Buffy disc is aprox 3hrs long.

Visually it looks like only a small portion of the disc is burnt but when I check the properties of the disc it says it's all used up!

yes, please do as fasfrank asked and post a Nero log for us to look at.

In Shrink, are you doing full disc or reauthor?

DVD-R and DVD+R are write once discs, so even if you only burn 1MB to a DVD±R you will have a disc that is "all used up."

The problem I thought I had does not exist. I have now verified that the full disc has been burnt, the full 4.7GB!

Thanks for your help anyway!

We love these mysterious problems... I sit here and think of what could possibly cause this and I really don't come up with anything. We asked if you would post a log file so we could tell just exactly how you are screwing the thing up or misreading something hehehe. Just kidding!!

Welcome to Afterdawn Kyliefan1 and happy burning!

Sorry squiz, I have not copied any games. It always looked interesting but I think you have to have a mod chip or something....See what I mean...I'm clueless. I do have a PS2 though!
