Yep. I ordered these last week after a friend of mine told me that's what he usually buys... They are just like the unbranded TY's in my IMO. Same great quality, just no fancy packaging and no logos on the discs. I like them better "blank" anyway!!!
Three flawless burns so far... They code out fine, so, I don't foresee any probs.

thanks for the heads up...well, i don't use DVD-R Verbs~ i prefer the DVD+R format~ my fav. MCC003 coded ones...it's comparable in price from newegg...actually, $1 cheaper, but $4 shipping :( and TAX since im in cali...wish i could get a break on tax in california...it's really beginning to make GREAT deals turn into lukewarm ones~ but nice find for the DVD-R 8x Verbs~ :)

@na_tra - avoid the GQ ('Great Quality') discs, i'm sure we had a few threads about these lately, along with 'Great Azo', HQ ('High Quality')

Those Verbatims if I remember right, that price is only good for the first 100 with the mail in rebate. If you want to buy anymore than a 100 then you pay the full price.
As for the GQ, I havent had any personal experience with them, but I would stay away from anything with a name like "Great Quality",and wait for the NC's "Not Crappy" media to go on sale. LOL

1,800 disks???? My wife would turn into Loretta Bobbitt if I did that. She hasn't come to grasp yet with me buying 200 of the Verbatim on sale at BB. Of course if was something for her "sewing room" there would be no discussion -- funny how that works,

I have over 800 blank discs and I won't be buying anymore until I see what the prices of the new Maxell MXLR G04 16x media will be. I have this funny feeling that Taiyo Yuden will be selling a +16x disc soon also. For now all they have is TYG-03 dash media. New firmwares are being developed for these media as we speak. I would love to know why Verb and Ty have discontinued all of their 4x and some of their 8x media. I have a feeling, and I want to make that clear, it is just my feeling(nobody told me) that there will be some new great media coming out very soon. I will wait.

Hey gang
been ogle-ing the Generic verbatims on sale at newegg for a couple days now and reading your post pushed me over the edge ! only ordered 1 spindle but I 've got several more of various brands in the computer room so I'll manage ! mostly Fuji/Taiyo yudens TDk ect. . Tsquare43- I too am married so I understand your situation ! the trick is buy in smaller quantities and accumualate over time ! they (WIVES ) don't seem to freak out as much when you do it that way ! atleast mine Does'nt Also it helps if you let them buy a little something something for themselves or you buy them something as a surprise ! I/m no marriage counselor just another regular guy ! just love 'em & be honest that works best! And kivory666 my friend I believe that Newegg has the GENERIC VERBATIMS in DVD+R as well Verbatim Generic 4.7GB 8X DVD+R 100 Pack Spindle Disc - OEM

i keep trying to tell people, Verbatim is AMAZINGLY CHEAP yet they are near perfect quality, i mean they are not as good as Sony's Brand, but they dont cost 40 dollars for a 20 pack.

heheh...thanks for all the advice above, my wife has thought i was crazy from the very beginning, i buy media in bulk to save a few bucks here and there; besides, i get her whatever she wants at the time when i go on my media splurges~ so it evens out somewhat~:)
yah, i noticed they had the DVD+R OEM verbs too..but, for $31 w/ shipping PLUS tax for me here in CA, it's a decent deal for me, but not smoldering HOT for those that live outside of CA~ :)
i had jumped on the amazon Verbatim deal about a month ago when it was $35 shipped...no rebate, NO TAX for me...retail spindles...so, it equals out~i have plenty of Verbs to last me now and with my 1,800 TYs, i think i should be fine~ :P
good luck to you all who are interested in this deal, thanks again teflonmyk for bringing this to our attention, very nice deal indeed.
