hehehe..i dunno either~ have you tried the OEM verbs you speak of? i guess they are the same, but would like to know the DIFFERENCE(s), IF ANY, between these and the "retail" ones~ :) other than the price~

i assume they should code out the same as well? MCC003? for the 8x dvd+R~?? that is a good price, just want to see some other "user feedback" before i take the plunge, i still have a few hundred of the "retail" kind left waiting to be burned..hehe :)

have a good one buddy~

here is a good place to start, i buy MOST of my TY media from here:

www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-dvd-r-media.html

here is another reliable online retailer:

http://www.rima.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=...

those are just 2 of MANY stores online that sell TY, there are others, but i trust these 2 with my OWN purchases. good luck

you should be fine fusion~ :) ALL Verbatim uses the AZO dye now from what i've heard, the Verbatim i use are NOT labelled "datalifeplus" either, BUT code out the same as the datalifeplus~ same thing to me~ they are great media and ALSO made in taiwan, please don't believe those that tell you "made in taiwan media sucks", it is SIMPLY NOT TRUE~ :)

Well, I understand that you don't like Memorex, but what do you think is the best bang for the buck. :) And what are the differences in them.
I see you like verbatem, but how do I find datalifeplus?
I am looking for 16x -r's
I see you guys talking about branded and such, I really don't know what you are talking about there....I don't need anything fancy, like the printable kind....I just want to burn some good quality dvd's.

How about Sony?

Best buy has a 50 pack of 8x -r's for 19.99....good deal or not?

How much difference is 8x going to be from 16x burning time wise?....I am currently burning 16x.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6689167&type=produc...

This looks to be a good deal also:

getaklu i am fairly new also,i have used alot of the sony 8 x in the bb ad you were asking about,and haevnt had any problems as of yet.i personally don't think there is a whole lot of difference between 8x and 16 x.the burning part for me is the easiest,its the backing up to the hard drive that takes the most time for me.just my 2 cents.

@GET

i would seriously consider slowing your burning down, @16x is MUCH too fast and the chances of errors are VERY high at that speed...even if you use 16x media and it's good quality, i wouldn't worry so much about burning times as for most of us here, getting a QUALITY/FLAWLESS backup is MUCH more desirable than a dvd burned @16x saving a few minutes of burn time, for choppy/pixellated pictures~ :)

@GETaklu,

No offense, and yes... it's only a joke here all right, so bear it with me a little. Anyways, listen to creaky, kivory and I, damn it. You stated: I just want to burn some good quality dvd's; well, get some TY/FUJI, Verbatim and Maxell, case closed.

@alkohol - well put

@GETaklu - all the guys have given you lots to go on above. If (i doubt it) you need more info, look around the first couple pages in this very forum, there are many current threads about top media to get, where to get them from etc, though you will see many of the replies there, are in fact from the very same ppl here, and more ppl besides :)

I don't know what DVDs to take for my PS2 and my DVD Drive. DVD+R or DVD-R ?!?!?!

I know you've answered the question before but: What brand? I'm hesitating between a lot of them because I want the best one for the cheapeast price, and I live in Canada (so I don't have all those great deals with Taiyo Yuden).

I saw good deals on Ritek G05, but I saw also some Taiyo Yuden (8 bucks more expensive).

Thank you!
