I've had a dvd burner for about a year that I never used. I just got some empty dvd's and wanted to backup some files on my computer. I have Nero 6.6.0.13. I tried doing some different stuff from various faqs, but I don't really know what I should do and shouldn't. Anyway, I hope someone can help find and maybe even correct whatever problem it is that I have!

I couldnt really find anything my drive isnt listed anyway, not too sure what I'm looking for still. Sadly I know shit about this stuff, could you elaborate on how to update my firmware?

btw I was just able to burn two pics on a (third) new dvd, but when I tried to burn more it gave an error again.

Multisession type: : Start multisession
,

although, you shouldnt need to uncheck multi session,as you are only burning small amounts of data, and it appears this is what you want to do,especially as you are using dvd+rw

use DVD Decrypter to search for firmware updates
tools>drives>"search for firmare updates"

download the latest for your drive, and flash it

firmware update here: http://www.liteonit.com/ODD/English/e_downloads/e_firmware_dvd%20...

Just scroll down about half way till you see your burner LDW-851S.

If they're just data files (not a movie) and you're going to read them from the same drive then multisession and finalizing shouldn't really be that big a deal. I think firmware's the ticket here.
