Well, first make sure that everything is desoldered correctly and that you have no bridges or solder splashes on the board. Then, check to see where the board is scratched, and if it is bad enough, you may need a new board. How did you end up scratching the board? If you scratched through a trace, you can "re-trace" it, http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone/xboxtraces.htm

Worst comes to worst, you could just get another MOBO and a matching HD, or just another MOBO.

I never soldered the chip just screwed in but from trying to make connection could have scratchod mobo. the contact point at end of line d0 is pretty messy/ ripped up now, and I can't get a connection at all. is it possible to just remake d0 hole/contact point by soldereing without re-tracing line? (I don,t know how to solder and difficulty is an issue)
also dvd drive does not open,-makes some noise on first attempt then nothing could this signify other problems?
thank you

So is the D0 pad lifted off the top of the motherboard? If you do not know how to solder, I would not mess w/ it. I would take it in to somebody who knows how to solder and have them check it out. It is always hard to tell what you should do seeing that I cannot actually see your motherboard.

I'm not sure why your dvd drive does not open? It could be a problem w/ the mobo not functioning correctly, something w/ the wires connected to it, or the eject board/power board. You could swap a different drive into your Xbox from a friends Xbox and see if it works in there, just to make sure the drive hasn't crapped out on you.

thanx for the feedback
as for the drive i manually opened it and then turned on and pressed eject and it closed so maybe its nothing significant as for the d0 point I can see the circle/pad is totally scratched out, SO would anyone who know electronics be able to diagnose/fix it? my dad has a friend who has fixed/soldered his tv before, will he know? and does it just need solder to create a new contact point?
