Those codes dont seem to work, have tried some other codes which are saying code not accepted. When I entered these ones it came up with Can't undo restriction. Any ideas?? Thanks for the previous codes.

Servive Provider: Cingular Wireless (USA)

There is a another 6230 that i unlocked loacaly but, that phone gives complete singnal drops in someplaces while other phones have full signal in the same place! could anyone have a answer to this

1) You need to have a cingular sim card in the phone.

3) if the code works then at the end of entry, the phone screen will say "Phone restrictions off".


To access "p" just press "*" three times within one second. To access "w" press "*" four times within one second. To access button "+" you have to press twice "*" within less than a second

In UAE so want to use local sim, but says phone Restricted.
Please help unrestrict it.

Thanks for the help so far! Ive inputted codes 1 and 7 and I get code error, I know I only get 5 shots so I just wanted to know which one I should try next. I double checked the IMEI and its correct and its the right network and everything. Any help would be great!

Try keeping your valid sim card inserted and if that doesnt work try it with a sim card the phone doesnt accept

berty642! thanks for the unlock codes! to see this phone already unlocked!

However I have problem!
Local survice providers offer only GSM 900/1800 bands while only GSM 900 is in most of the areas. But my Nokia 6230 US edition is compatible with GSM 850/1800/1900 bands (Normal 6230 have GSM 900/1800/1900).

That means the only comman band available is GSM 1800. Howewer, the GSM 1800 band is availble only in limited areas so my phone does not have any signal at all where the GSM 1800 band is not available!

Can i fix the problem is if I Flash the phone????? that is to convert the band from GSM 850/1800/1900 to GSM 900/1800/1900

Hi Berty,

I tried again with the SIM card in it and now Im down to one try. What do you suggest I do? If I fail on the last attempt, it means that my phone is just locked but it will still work? How would I get it unlocked?

If you use the 5 attempts your phone will still work, it will still be on the network it was locked to, the only solution is to have it unlocked by cable, i dont know what else to suggest

You can flash the phone get all you need at these forums www.cellular-support.com you will need to register, or try here www.unlockme.co.uk. I have never tried to flash the newer nokias so im not sure what you will need but celluar support will be able to provide you with all the files
