hey psxnut
thanks so much but it doesnt seem to be working. I should do it with no sim in right?? it doesnt even come up with code error or something it just doesn nothing...do i need to press a button after ive entered the code???

yes...if i put in the sim it says code error...is it possible someone has put in the wrong code too many times or would it then say sth different??

firstly is your fone OK with your orange sim? it is possible that the code has been put in too many times. Do you get code error when you put in another sim froom another provider? Tell me exactly what you are doing.

its totally fine with orange. only when i put in a vodafone SIM it says phone restricted and then enter restriction code....

Lovely, right put the voda sim in when the fone says "enter restriction code" hit the # key once,hit + twice, hit + three times, hit + once and so on as code 7 on the codes I gave you, don't forget to finish with #. just do code 7 and look what it says after. don't try any other of the codes, let me know!

Hey, thanks for the quick response. Much appreciated.
Unfortunately, codes 7, 1 and 5 don't work. I followed your advice from and earlier post and haven't attempted two other codes!
But thanks for trying anyway!
EDIT: I did have a data cable (currently can't find it). If i did come across it, is there anyway of doing it via the PC? Cheers.

Hi there, I have a 6230 which is on contract with T-Mobile, but I have a pay-as-you-go SIM for 02 but it comes up with the 'Enter restriction code' message. Not sure if this is the right place but here goes:
IMEI: 533767005505869
UK
is registered on T-Mobile, want 02

can you check your imei number, something wrong with it somewhere.
Do *#06# it should give you imei number of the fone.

did you check the imei number you quoted? if you got a data cable you could look for some software on the net, google search "nokia fone unlocking software. Try http://www.theunlocker.co.uk you may need someone to unlock it with an unlocking box.

PSXnut, tried the one you pointed to, no joy.
Should I try another? Also, if I do go over the limit, will that stop the T-Mobile card (the one I have on contract) from working, i.e. shut down the phone altogether?

Hi, Firstly what it say on the screen when you entered code 7, secondly, no your fone will still work with your original sim, don't worry about that, basically your software in your fone gives you 5 attemps to enter the correct unlock code, once you go past 5 the fone has to be unlocked via a data cable. Some fones have more than 1 lock locked so you have to enter 2 of the codes to unlock it.
Its important to know what the fone said after you entered code 7
