Removed the sim card. Powered up the phone. Entered the code. Pressing the last pound key didn't do anything. I still see the code on the screen. Am I supposed to press some button after the # key?

insert a sim card from another provider and it will say phone restricted then press undo and enter the code.

ok. I will try that. A dumb question: how do I press Undo? Will that show up as an option when I insert another provider's sim card?

Thanks for your help. I just tried AT&T sim card in my phone and it worked fine... probably because AT&T and Cingular are now a merged company. I will try with one of my friend's sim card tomorrow and see if I can unlock the phone with your code.
Just curious, is there any other option to unlock the phone without putting some other carrier's sim card in?

most of the times when you press the # key, it should unlock it automatically, some cases if nothing happens, you have to insert a sim card. for you, nothing happens, so you have to insert a sim card.

Yesterday, when entering the code didn't do anything (without the sim card), I came across a thread on your website that said for Nokia 6230b models, you should leave the sim card in (Cingular sim card if you are on Cingular network).
So, I tried to enter the code you provided (#pw+248965366631573+1#) with the Cingular sim card in and got the message "Code Error".
What does that mean?
IMEI: 353372007077171
Provider: Cingular
Phone model: Nokia 6230b

put a sim in from another provider, any sim active or not as long as its not a cingular, the fone will ask for the code, enter this code and let me know what the fone displays.

I forgot to mention the country: USA
I got a different code last night from this site. Was that incorrect? Did you want me to try the code you just posted?
I will get a sim card from another carrier and put it in my phone once I get confirmation on what code to use from you (I am just worried that I might lock the phone with too many tries) and let you know what I see.

how many codes have you tried? If you have done 5 wrong, it will not work.

I just put in a sim card from T-Mobile into my phone and it worked. Never asked me to enter any code.
Do you think my phone is already unlocked?

Hoping someone can help me. I had an older Nokia 6230 that was having problems so I used my insurance to get it replaced with a refurbished one. I also upgraded to the Nokia 6682 and they gave me a new 3G SIM. I don't like the 6682 and I went to put the 3G sim into my Nokia 6230 and it displayed "Enter Restriction Code." However, if I pop in my girlfriend's 32K sim, the Nokia 6230 fires right up. There appears to be something with my 3G sim, although it works just fine in the Nokia 6682.
Can someone give me advice please? Thank you!!

Help me pleeeease! I just bought a nokia 6230 on ebay. It is locked to cingular. But i am still on att wireless. I searched the codes up on the internet and tried them. But it looks like the person i bought it from had already tried 5 bad codes. So im stuck with it. I have a DKU-5 cable. I was wondering if there is a program i can download to use the cable. Is there any way someone could help me?
