hi new and stupid, got myself a nokia 6230 locked onto tesco sim...
serial no is 356239004877035
can anyone help me with trying to unlock this?
when i switch the phone on with the sim i want to work in handset it says phone restricted
any help is much thanked

Hello , can someone help me out . I have 6230 In spain blocked with Vodafone. i have tried to entered somecodes that i have got from a code Generoter Software. But when i enter the code with +1# it does not do anything. I enter the codes with somcard With Vodafone it works fine but not with other Opraters.
Please help

Sorry to be boring but can anyone supply the unlock code to allow me to change my phone from vodaphone to O2 in the UK.
The code on the back of the Nokia 6230 phone is 0515771 355009/00/683564/1. I don't have an active vodaphone Sim so suppose I can't get the serial number electronically.
When I enter the code the O2 Sim must be in the phone to get the phone to accept its code. At that stage the phone will accept only numbers and the odd symbal (no letters) right??

Hello everybody!
Can anybody help: my 6230 secured phone-contacts-memory blocked when I changed SIM - it does not respond to the code I enter properly. When I enter security-unlock codes telephone just doesn't respond. Is there different procedure needed to unlock secured contacts-memory?

oh yea..i think ive tried to unlock it like 7 or 8 times...is there a way to reset it or something cause i hear after 5 you cant unlock it no matter what..whats the deal?

If you know the risks, try this ONCE and ONLY ONCE and let us know if it works. You have only 5 tries and then it will be hard locked. After that you will need a cable thing-a-me-jiggy to unlock it. It should still work on your Network so no big loss.

Remove sim first,power on the phone.
After the phone boots up, press #
Press * 3 times fast for (p) \
Press * 4 times fast for (w) IMPORTANT
Press * 2 times fast for (+) /
and the rest of the code---
IMPORTANT!!
Verify code before pressing the last #.
Pay attention. You only heve about two seconds.
Note: Some Phones require that you to insert a non accepted sim, you will see "phone restricted", press UNDO option and enter the code in the restriction box and press enter.)
"Phone restrictions off", it's unlocked.
"Error code" wrong code.STOP tell me.
"Not allowed" or "Can Not Undo Restriction" it's hard locked. Used up all your free tries!!
DO let us know if this works.

can anyone please help, i've unlocked a couple of nokias in the past but i'm having trouble with this 6230.
i've generated the codes, but when i input them into the phone, literally nothing happens, the number just stays on the screen mocking me.
anyone got any ideas???

If you are Sure you have the right code, insert a sim card from another provider and when it says phone restricted, press undo and enter the code.
I'd hate to suggest you don't do your own phone.

but now when i put the new sim card in, it switches on and everything, but it does not detct any signal from orange.
