Is the Orange SIM account activated? Try a known good sim from a friend and see what happens.

The sim card i've tried is spot on, works fine.
When i put it in this phone, the phone switches on fine, but on the main screen there is a small square with a question mark in the middle, and no signal.

First try the old sim and see if the phone works. If it does, try a new unlock code. Without the sim and then with a non O2 sim.

Very interesting. The T-Mobile USA is on a different Band. That may be why it works there. These are the only codes I have for your phone. Each phone needs a unique code for that phone and Network.
I hope you have not tried any other codes. If you have one of those SIMs from Venezuela use that. A Digicel sim might work. Digicel is on the same band as T-Mobile USA so it may not say "Phone restricted".

If you know the risks, try this ONCE and ONLY ONCE and let us know if it works. You have only 5 tries and then it will be hard locked. After that you will need a cable thing-a-me-jiggy to unlock it. It will still work on your Network so no big loss.
