Reset Occurred During Nero Simulation - Can't seem to backup DVDs

EDIT: Seems like my issue might be related to this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/102002 I guess it's an issue with the external enclosure. Anyone have any confirmed external enclosures that DO NOT have these issues?

Hello,
I just got a NEC 3540a and mounted it in a Bytecc USB2.0 external enclosure and seem to be having some difficulty burning/backing up DVDs. After updating to the latest version of Nero, and rebooting several times, I was able to successfully backup some of my data on to a DVD-R (Verbatim 8x DVD-R). However, I still seem to be having trouble backup up video DVDs. I'm guessing I'm not having media issues, since even the Simluatios are failing.
I tried a couple of different methods: I used DVD Decrypter to create an ISO on my hard drive and mounted as an image using Daemon Tools---this failed Simulation in Nero and resulted in "Reset Occurred". I also tried using DVD Shrink to prepare the files for making a DVD using Nero---this also failed Simulation and resulted in "Reset Occurred".
Here are my system specs and two log files. Please let me know if there is anything else specific that I should be trying. I'm not real clear how to interpret these log files.

1) Try use e.g. Decrypter to see if you can burn at all.
2) Try burn at lower speed (2-4x).
3) Try burn to harddisk first.

Oddly enough, I was able to eventually get data (non-video files) backed up to a DVD using Nero. Though, I don't know how much I trust this in the future. I think I might just throw the burner into my case. Either that, or I'll see if anyone lets me know of an external case that definitely works okay.

I'll give it a shot tonight. Like I had said though, I was able to use Nero to backup data files to a DVD, so I think I know I can at least burn. It seemed like it was something with doing video. How do you burn to hard disk? Can you change the destination to the hard drive?

Burning to harddisk:
1) With Nero: Start Nero Recode, click 'copy entire dvd to dvd', then 'import dvd', then go find and click 'Video_TS' folder of dvd, click 'next' and set 'destination' to harddisk. Use the same method to copy from harddisk to dvd.
2) With Decrypter: Have dvd inserted, run Decrypter, check 'mode' to 'file', select destination, and click the green arrow.
