Im using anydvd/clonedvd combo. I havent had any problems until recently.
I keep getting this error when its trying to write to disk..

Writing to video media was not successful:
C:/CloneDVDTemp/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB:read error
data error(cyclic redundancy check).
If reading the media has failed, please clean the surface and try again.

these are brand new dvd-r's,and this is the second brand I tried(first tried TDK,and then tried fujifilms).

Not sure whats goin on,not sure if its computer problem or dvd writer problem....

I was copying from an original..I've been having hard time trying to find firmware updates for my I/O magic writer. I emailed I/O they gave me dvdinfo to use,but it wont recognize my dvd writer(external)..So,I guess I will keep trying..

This is the i/o magic site for firmware

http://www.iomagic.com/Firmware/FirmwareDownload.html

You can try the update. I know this will not come as good news to you but I own an I/O Magic external drive which checks out as a BTC1008UI and has been nothing but trouble, I sent it back to I/O Magic and even the one they returned another one it has not worked well.

Why does everyone blame the hardware when things go wrong....

@Bawjawz

Because in my case it was the hardware, the enclosure has an ali chipset which get along with nothing, and I/O magic makes it so you cannot remove the drive from the enclosure without breaking it.

I've updated the firmware to my I/O magic external dvd writer, and it still gets the same error. Its a shame that I have to wait bout an hour to find out its not gonna work(been takin 77min's to transfer data to HD,then gets bout 14% into writing it,and itgets the read error).
I'm not sure what else to do,the source disks I guess could be suspect, sometimes they are scratched/dirty,but I usually clean them b4 starting process. It just it dont have problem reading source disk, just gets that error while writing to dvdr?
I have desktop that has dvdwriter, but I use laptop since Im playn my online game 99% of the time(has nero6/alchol programs on it,not sure what else I need)..

I have read errors on DVD's that I just ripped. I have just bought some new media from Shop4tech at a steal. I used DVD Identifier and the disc came up as:

DVD-R
Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd.
TYG02

I bought a 100 for $31. free shipping. I have yet to try burning one I just got them in.
