If you have not already noticed, i.e., it must communicate with a centralized server to allow you to use the software for the first time. DVD95Copy uses an activation system similar to that used with 321 Studios Products. DVDXPRESS is no longer supported, but is still an effective software, however users have trouble activating it due to the activation system used. I personally think that the activation system for DVD95Copy should be changed and be something like that used by CloneDVD2, a unique registry key. This way if the key is spread by someone, the program will be able to turn itself off, and this is fair because it should not be spread, but for those users who know better and wouldnt do something this unethical, you are safe and have the option to reinstall at a later time without any fear that you may not be able to activate. I personally do not want to be put into the position where if the server ever fails, or the website shuts down, that the hard earned money I payed for the software is wasted because if I ever need to reinstall the software or upgrade to a new system, I will not be able to activate. Furthuremore I think that if you agree with what I am saying then you too should contact the program operator with your concerns, and if there is enough support, then there may be a change to this excellent software programs current activation system. Thanks

More and more products are using a similar 'activation' system. On the other hand, if one faces the situation you describe, they can always communicate with the manufacturer to find a remedy.

i would agree but this is not a large company like 321 Studios or Slysoft to say the least. However it happens to be the best product available right now to back up and burn movies IMO. The only downside to the program would be the activation system, which i believe if we do contact the developer/ programmer about, can be changed to another effecive system that would not leave users in the same position if the worst does happens and servers or whatever are shut down IMHO.

Personally, I also don't like the activision system that much, quite troublesome.

My 2-cents

People are discovering that when you buy any product that is subject to "activation", you haven't really bought anything.

thats really the reason why i started this thread... i almost feel cheated, because the software is yours when you buy it, yet putting activation which could prevent you from using the software you purchased is not fair. However I think that DVD95Copy can be reasonable and if enough people contact them they would be willing to change to a more fair system, there is power in numbers!

I understand your concerns. I know what 321 did and that is realy mean if not even a fraud.

But you don't need to worry in my case.
There are no limits to activate Dvd95Copy.
You can even install and activate it on multiple computers.
Just don't spread it over the internet.

I have to use this activation because some other idiots have spread my
tool over the internet. And this activation is currently the only way to prevent this.
I will be changing this activation method to some kind of serial number in future, but don't know yet when.

Anyhow, if I should stop my business for some reason then everybody will get a version without the need to activate of course.
I'm not such an asshole like 321 or XSoftware.

Just FYI... I attempted to use the trial version of DVD95COPY on "Diary of a Mad Black Woman"... and it failed.

I have no objection to purchasing the product, however, it doesn't work with this disc!

idjingles this is way, way off topic but I backed up DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN easily with Anydvd. Maybe you have a bad press.

What is the quality of backups made by this software? How is it compare to others?
