while surfing on the net i came across some websites claiming that this fantasic new product out can fix problems on ps2 mainly the "disk read error" problem.
however for this info you need to send them money which i dont want to for info. maybe someone out there knows how to fix this problem allready and all help will be appreciated. i regularly clean lens so i no that dont work and its not disk problem as they work on other ps2. has anyone out there bought this and does it work.cheers

Well what i say is don't pay for a guide. There are so many excellent guides on the internet to fix your ps2. Like you said mostly all it's going to say is how to blow out the dust out of your ps2 q' tip wit a tiny bit of alcohol to clean len's. Turning on diagnostic's etc. I suggest don't pay for a guide just search on google ;).

I reccommend turning the little white cog on the disk tray until it starts working again. I did that with my friend's ps2 a while back (his was a V4) and it started working once more with no problems
