Hi,
Just wondering if anyone here has backed up the PAL version of this game?, cause I just have recently only to late realise that there's a huge PADME.AAA file about 1.43GB a frickin big bugga and was makin my laser jump all over tha place!. Which seriously stalled loading time.
Thx for any advice.

Hey wargamer, i havent backed up this game yet but its on my to-do list, i have had a look around for you tho and many people have claimed that it is just a simple 1:1 copy, use DVD Decrypter and read then write, (its work a try)
Ill update you when I get it backed up myself. Have to get a copy first.

Wargamer, I had same issues: It's told that 1:1 copy should work allright with chipped consoles but for some reasons mine didn't, so I tried to rebuild it removing dummy file and problems disappeared. Check this topic, it might help you a little:

Thanks a tone for all yer help!. I did do a 1:1 image copy with DVD Decrypter burned @2x, and although it works and plays ok, it has just one extremly annoying prob which makes the laser move so frickin eradictly all over the place. I'm afraid to play the damn thing woried could burn it out!, which i would not want!!.
After that one i tried rebuilding it using ISO Buster, i replaced the 1.4Gb PAD file with to a 1 byte size 'w/same name'. Recreated the image in DVD-Gen and burned, when i tried to play it, bloody thing doesn't load dead!. I thought the pad file must have some importance to stop it from been replaced or altered :(.

Sounds like you did everything right. I used the same method with the same media (except mine are Office Depot branded, but yes, they are RITEKG04's) as you did. I don't think it could be your version of SM, I recall reading about SM 3.0 working with a rebuilt copy. I don't know if this will help, but you might want to clean your laser.

Ah, how do i clean the laser?. with a cd lens cleaner?, i have one but would it scratch the lens at all?. However all or most of my other games working perfectly and they never make the laser as noisy as with frickin this game. So i can't see how it could really be my laser, hope not. Arrgh that's a pain in the butt if it was!.

Lol yeah really! I think the best way to clean your laser would be to use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol, but that involves opening up your PS2, voiding the warranty (unless you use an Exacto knife to split the warranty).

Yeah i just opened it up tonight and nerve racking to do, but got to the black disc drive cover, and couldn't remove the damn screws they need a special tiny screw driver, so i gave up. Even tried a knife for them and that was useless ughh

Hey I made an 1:1 copy of MOH European Assault and it works fine with Swap Magic 3.3. On a V9 PS2. And is the PAL version.

So your laser isn't reading erraticly like wit mine?, cause i did 1:1 copy and i get nothing but shit load of laser activity whilst playing it and i mean realy annoyin.
Arrgh someone plz help, i'm guessing it has to do with that large dummy or is it?. Cuz i did try replacin it and that doesn't work.
Usually i've only had problems when the disc is > 4GB with SM, but i have some games under 4gb like Moh is 3.5 and they've never done what this is. I use a DVD -R, which i have most of my games on and have no noisy laser issues wif them, but with MOH-EA its a nightmare.
Another thing, my PS2 is laying flat on a book, would this have anythin to do with it?. Cause i've heard that vertical is best or can that scratch discs when openin tray.

Yes, my PS2 is chipped with Infinity. Usually dummy files are pain in the ass just for Swap Magic users, but for some reason I had to remove them from some games because they didn't work properly. This is what I made to MoH European assault:
1) Made ISO of original DVD
2) Opened ISO in IsoBuster and extracted the files (leaving IsoBuster opened)
3) Started ISO/UDF DVD project in Nero
4) Dragged game files in project window in same order they are shown in Isobuster (except dummy file, I didn't even replaced it)
5) Burned 2x
4th part is the most important one, if you drag files in wrong order and game has LBA checks it won't work. Nero's window will organize files in alphabetical order when you drag them there, but it still burns them in same order you've dragged them.

Oh i see you used nero, Its too big ta download and i normally use DVD Decrypter to burn Iso's after rebuilding. Is there anything else?. Yeah the file layout is important, cause i have got them wrong before with Starwars BF, but wit Moh i dropped them in CDVDGEN in correct order as Iso Buster.
With that dummy, did you remove as in delete?. Cause i've tried and the game won't boot without it, i get da pink border and sh*t.

Uh, I remembered wrong, I checked my copy and actually I replaced trhe dummy file with 1Kb one I made with notebad.
I use Nero because with this way I don't have to recreate ISO for burning with another program, but it won't work for every game since there seems to be 2Gb limit for single files it accepts - I haven't stumbled to this kind of case yet but I think it was Hursty who mentioned about it.

Yeah!, it's ok now I tried again for one last time and my problem was solved. It was the files layout in Cdvdgen i had wrong, i just didn't go by ISO buster's layout, now I know its important to look at exactly as Isobusta shows. So made the image rebuild in Cdvdgen this time files layout proper.
Cause before i dropped the PADME.AAA in CDVDGEN first, when it shoud've been the last to putin. So now it works ok thankfuly, but
even with the downsized 1 byte PADME, still does bit of laser movin noise, just not as bad, and removed the loading stalls!.
LBA checks, if there was one, that would be tuff. Hopefuly never come across any games with one. Has anyone ever had one wif that.

As far as I know LBA checks are exactly for checking order of files in DVD so you've already solved that.

Can anyone help me out by posting the order of the files in MoH:EA? My old MoH dvd got all scratched up and won't load anywhere, thanks to a good party I had a while back.
