I download movies onto my my comp then onto my dvd+r it plays on my comp but not on my philips dvp 630 could it be i need a multi region player? Any solutions please many thanks.

what format are the files .AVI,.mpeg ect,ect. Download a tool called video tool box from download.com. It will tell ya the format and codec of most any video file.l

and if they are AVI are you converting them to a DVD compliant format?

What programs are using to convert and burn?

they are AVI files i bought a new dvd re-writer samsong with pinnacle software with it all my films play on my windows media on my comp but none of them would play on my new dvd player philips dvp 630 with DivX many thanks if you can help me

there's a couple of programs you could try, some are free. One is DivXtoDVD, another is avi2dvd, and another is windvd. One of these should work out for you.
