Magic 3.1+ problem...

I recently bought a Magic 3.1+(from mod-chip.com) for my Version 8 PS2(SCPH-39006) to replace my old clone magic 3.0 modchip and brought it to a place where the technitian can install it. After installing , we started booting the PS2 but it wont run my games for some reason(however the DVD runs fine...)

Here's the diagram:


and here is the set up the technitian did (sorry for the low quality pic, I used my phones camera but I hope it looks sensible) :







Even if he got the soldering spot right, it still does not work... as he claims that the mod-chip is defective but I dont believe that, he probrably followed the diagram wrong or something... Can anyone confirm/help? Thanks in advance.

One of the wires might have an internal break, test every wire with the voltage meter and check if it is a break.

I see... any other possible causes? How bout the wire placements or the mod chips position? I recently got a full manual from mod-chip.com and the mod chips placement is placed horizontally not vertically..

could be, also try using a thicker ground wire (22 awg kynar) wont work without a ground.
