Hi all, first off (as everyone else does on their first post), sorry if this is in the wrong section, or if it has been answered, I have looked and couldnt find anything that answers my problem..

I have a Divx 5.0/MP3 Audio AVI that I have successfully converted to MPEG with the help of various guides.. It plays fine, and audio is there and syncs.. But when I convert it to the VOB's and IFO's using TDA (latest version), there is no sound upon playing back the video_ts.ifo ... I can get sound if I play back and of the other ifo's or if I play any of the vob's, but not with the one that counts...

Im about to see if IFO Edit can help me, but since I have never used it, I will probably be back here awaiting an answer...

Why are you concerned about audio in that particular ifo?
Use something like PowerDVD or WinDVD, and select "Play DVD from folder", then just browse to the VIDEO_TS folder.
If it all works, there's nothing wrong.

Black holes are where God divided by zero...

Its not that im concerned about the audio in a particular IFO, its that when I try to play the dvd with MPC it doesnt have any audio, while retail DVD's and even copys of retail ones play the audio fine. Although I just now tested the DVD in a set-top player and the audio is fine, it still wont play in MPC.. I dont have any problems using somethin like powerdvd, i just dont have a copy of software dvd players anymore (the one with my burner got scratched), and im not about to pay for or pirate one..

The other problem I am having which I will open a new thread for is that TDA puts the menu at the end of the DVD (so the movie plays first then the menu comes up so i can either replay it or pick which chapter/track I want to watch).. Which is a bit of a pain

Well IFO Files them selves do not Contain any audio or Video they just contain Information about the Time Code and Chapter information ect....

Also if the DVD Plays Fine in your DVD player then there is nothing wrong with the DVD the Problem is Most likely with MPC....

Hmm.. Thanks for the tip. After a little more testing using a Trial of Cyberlink, and a full version of VLC that I have, the audio works on the DVD in those programs (which dont use the system codecs).. SO the audio problem seems to stem from my DVD MEPG2 audio codec.. Ill have a look at it with Avicodec (since GSpot only shows detailed info about AVI's).. Ill post more info as I find it..

You might just need to install an AC3 decoder as DVD audio is usually Dolby AC3....

Cheers
