Welcome to Afterdawn!
Some PCs come with a DVD Burner, others come with a CD burner. They can be bought and then installed pretty easily. You have to have a DVD burner to burn DVDs. This may seem obvious, but many have tried, none have succeeded.
DVD burners are have come down a lot in price and an excellent burner can be found for less than $60.00. Here is an example:

asking for a free dvd burner is like asking for anything free...unless you win it in a contest or something, odds are you aren't going to get it. it brings us all down :-(

Here is where I buy almost all my pc hardware. http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Category.asp?Category=10 Excellent prices and selection. Nothing against you or pioneer fasfrank but I am not a pioneer fan only because they are not capable of bitsetting. I hear they are good burners otherwise.

That pioneer deal is not bad at all. I have had better results with this burner than with a px-716 (costs $100+).
Also, I am assuming you do not already have a DVD burner since you say you can only burn CDs. Look at your drive and see if it has any markings like DVD R/RW.
You can have both drive types in one computer, but you have to look at them to see what they are. You can also go into device manager and look at the model numbers from there and post them.

EASY MONEY PPL GO TO:
*No credit card or any payments required*
Really easy, all you do is sign up and enter where you want them to send your check.
-Next, log in and go to the "earn money" tab. Click where it says "Click here to start the Surf Junky Browser".
-Your web browser window will pop up and rotate ads.
-Leave it on overnight or something, and you make money for all the time you leave it on.
-It's 45 cents per hour if you just leave it alone and dont sign up for anything, but it adds up if you just leave it running whenever
you aren't at your computer.
Ive already gotten 2 checks from them, they send out a check every month, as long as you have made 25 dollars.

If it says DVD-ROM then all you can do with that is watch DVDs/play CDs (possibly burn CDs) but a DVD ROM cannot write to a blank DVD. You need a DVD-RW for that. Commonly called a DVD Burner.

That looks like a dvd-rom cdrw combo drive. In other words you can play dvd's with it but not burn dvd's and play and burn cd's.
