Hey guys, I have a AVI file that plays on my computer, but when I burn it onto a DVD, the DVD does not show a picture on my TV. The DVD player reads the disc and the dvd begins to play but without picture and sound. What should I do? Would you guys recommend burning it another time? (BTW I highly doubt its my DVD player because I have other burnt dvd's that work)

Thanks,
Alex

Did you convert your AVI to dvd? If not, you have to use DivXtoDVD, to convert it

I take it you're transcoding and burning with DVDSanta. If that is the case, try transcode without burning first. Then go to the harddisk folder to check whether the results are o.k. before burning to DVD. DVDSanta is a very simple and flexbile program. Unfortunately it does not burn that well. So you may try transcode with it, but burn to dvd with other programs (e.g. Nero).
Good luck!

Ya I transcoded the file to DVD, also, how would I burn the transcoded file with Nero SmartStart? Which file should I burn the video_ts.ifo, or video_ts.bup ???

Thanks for the help guys,
Alex

I suppose the transcoded movie plays fine. Now run Nero StartSmart, choose 'dvd', then click 'copy entire dvd video', 'import dvd', then go to the dvd folder, pick the 'Video_TS' folder, and follow the lead from there.
Good luck!
