I was wondering when there is the boxes checked for both 5.1 and 2 channel sound are both really needed? If I could get rid of 2 channel then the main movie could be much better quality. Are there anytimes when both 2 channel and 5.1 are needed. I usually just get rid of the foriegn audio or subpicture to reduced compression. Thanks

When I'm doing movie only,I keep only the 5.1 audio stream,this is will down mix to 2 channel stereo if needed.

If your doing the whole movie,extras included,then you need to be careful what you uncheck, or you may wind up with extras without sound.

So its fine then in the main movie part to get rid of the 2 channel and keep the 5.1 channel when those are the two ovious main audio selections. (ex. large mb amount), right?

Yes in the reauthor mode "main movie only" the 5.1 is the only one you need.Some people keep both, but Ive never found the need to keep both.
