Hello everybody, I just have a quick question: Whenever my home a/c central unit comes on, there is a supply voltage drop and I was just curious if this could cause any type of interference while burning? Seem logical?? May have to do some further R & D in the matter...

Hey slnixon,
It's funny that you asked this because I swear that just the other day I saw my read buffer drop from 100% full to about 50% when the AC unit kicked in. I don't see that this would affect the burn unless the buffer went down to zero and even then it may not. Even so there isn't much you can do to prevent it short of burning in the dark with no AC or Television lol.

Well, I don't think the TV would be that much of an impact or even running the a/c while burning. It's just that it has to be a consistent, steady source of power when You burn. See, all the buffer does is ensure a constant supply of information is being sent to the disc. The only way, I believe, would be to install a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) on Your computer. And even then, You may still have the same problem. This whole "theory" may be way off track, but I know how critical and sensitive these things are when burning.

If only turning on a light affects your burns you better get your house rewired. The phone gets it's power through the phone line. Thats why when the power goes out you can still talk on the phone unless of course you have a wireless then the base has to be plugged into an ac power supply.
