missing mp3 codec

okay...so i'm trying to transfer a music file to my motorola v400 via mobile phone tools and it keeps telling me i am missing the mp3 codec for it to work. how can i find this codec so i can get my ringtone? the file size is 444kb and is type mp3. thanks! :o)
