hi i was wanting to get started in playing ps2 games over the internet and was wondering....
1.How much it cost to subscribe to the "network"
2.How come some games are for broadband only
3.Can a "Gameshark 2 Broadband Enabled" can be updated with dial-up
4.The website i can go to to signup for the network

Some quick answers :
1. the use of Central Station (and the ps2 network) is free, and so is playing (most) games online, except for everquest and the likes
2. not just some, but 80% of the games is broadband only, because dial up is just to slow to be able to maintain a proper game speed and proper connections to the games servers and between players.
3. I can't help you on that one, see if any of your friends has one, then lend his and try it out :)
4. If you have and old ps2, you'll need to get a network adapter, which comes with instructions and a disc that enables you to configure your ps2 for online play, and then visit central station (also with your ps2, mind you), the ps2 network site, where you sign in, then create a gaming name to play with. If you have a newer ps2, then you just need to hook it up to your internet, insert the network access disk, do the same as with an old ps2, and presto! online ame playing and such.
I'll warn you before hand that playing online isn't easy, and without broadband the number of games you can play online are very limited.
