Hi I am usually a lurker on these forums because the advice you guys give is pretty sage. So I have this problem that has been bugging me for more than a year and I think you guys can help me. Well I have the first model ps2 and I got it modded about a year and some change ago. Shortly before the release of vf4:Evolution for import cuz i really wanted that....anywhoo, I got it modded at this seedy little shop in chinatown (NYC) and when they finish putting it together they show me an import to show it worked and i was happy, but when they showed it to me it would come on with one push of the reset button. Fine right? well when i get home I realize I don't know how to make the dvd's work. So i took it to another store and they showed me dvd's work they told me to hold the reset button and to make sure i held it till the eject light came on. after that they worked fine but I noticed that if i try to play orginals for ps2 or psx i have to also use this method and they work. The problem I am having now is I can't seem to get imports to work consistently. Most of the time, I push the reset button once from sleep mode and the screen with just be black. If I am lucky, it will power up and load the game but it is taking me too long to get games to come on. By the way with psx backups, i push the reset button twice to get them to come on. when I hold the reset button down till eject light comes on it works for orginals and dvd's but the imports wont play. now when i take it to the store they always get it to come on right away and when i ask them they say it must be my power cord but i have changed it like 5 times. So there must be a way to boot backups and import games consistently if so maybe one of you guys can tell me. Is there a possibility that when I first got it since I was loading both Ps2 orginals and imports the same way did that have any effect on the system. also in the beginning when i first modded it i couldn't get the dvd's and psx originals to work because i guess i didn't know how to properly boot it so maybe i am not booting correctly. anyway i don't know the chip model so i hope the info i have given is helpful enough. anyway thanks for reading and i hope someone can help me. thank you i just want to be able to play my entire library of games and when friends come over it's embarassing to not be able to get an import game on consistently thanks a bunch cya!
